Capsule Size Chart

  • Capsule Sizing

Gelatin and vegetarian capsules are offered in a variety of colors and sizes, including 000, 00, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.

Our capsule sizes are assigned numerical names consistent with industry standards for ease and convenience. For sizes 1-5, a higher number corresponds to a smaller capsule size, whereas for sizes 0, 00, and 000, the capsule size lessens as the number of zeroes decreases.

When selecting your capsules, consider which size best suits your needs. Here are a few factors to consider:

    • Physical Capsule Size: What is the maximum length and diameter of the capsule that can be ingested? For example, a pet or child would need a smaller capsule than an adult.
    • Filler Density: What is the density of the powder formulation being used?
    • Intended Dosage: How much filler do you intend to put in each capsule? Do you want to fit the full dose in one capsule, or would you prefer to split the dosage among two or three capsules?
    • Equipment Compatibility: If you already own encapsulating equipment, ensure the capsule size is compatible with your filler.
    • Desired Type of Capsule: Some capsule variations are only available in specific sizes. Determining the type of capsule you need first may narrow down your selection of sizes.
